What's the capital of Thailand called?
The mission from Lao to Thailand started at the embassy. After waiting far to long in the sun, I got my visa. Whoop whoop a new sticker! Exiting the office I joined a group of peeps heading the same way. Tuk tuk to the boarder crossing called the friendship bridge. Still with a wad full of bloody kip I raided the duty free shop, which seemed to make no impact. Stamp stamp and the filled out swine flew form. I still don't understand how that form makes on exempt.
Next stop was the train from a little known boarder town. The tickets were dirt cheap, I expected to paiy way more. So I choo choo'ed into Bangkok.. The train felt strangely similar to the Indian ones. Once in Bangkok it was a hop on a bus off to Ko San road. Bangkok felt like I was living a five star life compared to what I had experincaed the past 5 months.
The guest house was a good cheepy, the rooms were scorching hot though. But hey all I need is a pillow and safe storage. The first night we proceeded to hit Rambutrie and guzzled the half jack of Johny Red I bought at duty free. After getting sauced up we boarded a tuk tuk headed for a ping pong show. This driver was the best, cries of faster faster from the peanut gallery only spurred him on. We were on three wheels on more than one occasion. All bravo and what not from the rest of Asia, I knocked the entrance fee down from 1000 bhat to 500 bhat.
Once in side the last show was just finishing. Chatting to the other peeps about, we learned just what a bargin I struck. Well I was expecting ping pings flying across the room. All the happened was a girl pooping the ball trying to time the bounce right to get it in a cup. It was not all bad news though, we had paper darts shooting balloons. Razor blades on a string longer than you could ever imagine, and coke bottle popping. That last one just left me gob-smacked.
The next day we headed for a mall that only sells electronics. Jeepers it's huge it was geek heaven. I bought a flash for my paparazzi camera. It makes one feel so good avoiding these tuk tuk drivers and fingering out the buses, a 10'th of the cost.
After that Kailey arrived in town, shadowing her new lover. Man she sure rakes em up! The other crack heads Dane and Sarah also arrived in town. So it ended up a bucket night out around the town, with the old gang from Vang Vieng. Soon we would all be heading for Ko Phanagan wow 12 people it was going to be a mess.
